🌷 Tulip Care Guide 1️⃣ Sunlight Tulips prefer full sun to partial sun. Ideally 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. In warmer climates, light afternoon shade is helpful. 2️⃣ Soil Well-draining soil is essential. Tulips do not like wet or soggy soil (bulbs can rot). Slightly sandy soil works best. Ideal pH: neutral to slightly acidic (6.0–7.0). Tip: If your soil is heavy clay, mix in compost or sand to improve drainage. 3️⃣ Watering Water thoroughly right after planting. During growing season: keep soil slightly moist but not wet. Avoid overwatering. After flowering, reduce watering as leaves begin to yellow. Tulips are sensitive to excess moisture. 4️⃣ Planting Time Plant bulbs in fall (autumn) before the ground freezes. Depth: 6–8 inches (15–20 cm). Space bulbs about 4–6 inches apart. Plant with the pointed end facing up. 5️⃣ Fertilizing Use a balanced bulb fertilizer when planting. Fertilize again in early spring when shoots appear. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers (they produce more leaves than flowers). 6️⃣ After Bloom Care Remove spent flowers (deadhead), but keep the leaves. Let the leaves turn yellow naturally before cutting them off. The leaves help store energy for next year’s bloom. 7️⃣ Indoor (Potted) Tulips Ensure the pot has drainage holes. Keep in a cool, bright location. Avoid placing near heaters or direct hot air. 8️⃣ Common Problems Bulb rot – caused by overwatering. Poor blooming – usually from insufficient sunlight or nutrients. Small flowers next year – bulbs may need replacing (many tulips bloom best the first year). https://www.anthaly.com
